Java Jazz 2009 Players: Quasimode

Choosing which day's the best to see for the Java Jazz Festival 2009 is a bit tough if you have a limited option. But I already had my mind & bought the Saturday ticket. Why? Quasimode is one of the 80% reason why I chose for that day.

Quasimode delivers traditional instrumental jazz sounds with sweet melodious rythm and melody. They are a 4 piece jazz band from Tokyo, Japan. Consisted of Yusuke Hirado (Piano), Takahiro “Matzz” Matsuoka (Percussions), Kazuhiro Sunaga (Bass), and Takashi Okutsu (Drums). The percussion section adds a little of latin groove on some of the songs.

In Java Jazz, they will perform Saturday, March 7 at the scheduled time of 00:00. I hate the scheduling time because they are paired with the legendary duo of Mike Stern & Dave Weckl. Anyways, the latter starts at 23.30 and you have the chance to see Mike Stern for 20 minutes and save the 10 for the trip :)
